Hi! I'm Emily Rodriguez! I am the Children's Ministry Director here at Village Meadows. I was raised in El Mirage, Arizona. I grew up attending Calvary PHX where both of my parents served as my Sunday school teachers. At the age of seven, I asked Jesus to be my personal savior. On April 10, 2016, I was baptized alongside my two sisters, twin brother, and brother-in-law. At the end of 2019, I married Nestor Rodriguez and moved to Sierra Vista.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from NAU with a Bachelors Degree (Comparative Cultural studies with an emphasis in Religious Studies) in 2020. During my time at a secular university, I saw many people fall away from their faith in Christ; which caused me to fully comprehend the importance of growing up with a firm foundation in Christ. After volunteering at Village Meadows Baptist Church for several months, in January of 2022, I was hired as their Children's Ministry Director. As the Children’s Director, I strive to equip my wonderful volunteers with the resources they need to show kids the love of Jesus! I also diligently work to give kids fun and exciting memories while at VMBC, so they grow to have a long lasting fondness for Christ and His Church.

ABOUT KIDS MINISTRY
At Village Meadows, the goal of our Children’s Ministry is to teach kids about Jesus and help them foster a strong and loving relationship with Him while simultaneously showing them how to apply Biblical Truths to their everyday lives! In our Children’s Ministry, we know our children are in safe and capable hands, as all of our teachers and teacher’s assistants go through background checks and are thoroughly vetted.
Our Children’s ministry has classes available for children in the first grade through the sixth grade. Throughout the week we offer two Bible studies, one during small group hours on Sunday mornings, and another on Wednesday nights (Club 1407). During our Sunday school Bible study, kids take part in a Christ–centered learning based on the Gospel Project’s curriculum, which is specifically tailored to the educational needs of older and younger children. During our Wednesday night (Club 1407) Bible study, kids study the word of God in a hands-on and exciting way! Our approach to our midweek Bible study is to reinforce the Biblical truths they learn on Sunday, while showing them the joy and love found in gathering together with their brothers and sisters in Christ.
There are also various Children’s ministry events that take place throughout the year. In the summer, our team works hard to put on a week long Vacation Bible School. Then, in the Autumn, Village Meadows hosts a Fall Festival for families of all ages! Please consider joining us for any of the events mentioned above.
